HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET A NEW ROOF INSTALLED?

On average, a home that may need a few sheets of decking, included to the standard full roof, it can take 1 to 2 days from start to finish for an average 2,800 sq ft home. This excludes any major issues such as discovery of damaged rafters. Of course there are many other factors to consider, e.g., size of home, design and condition of current roof, weather, permits, accessibility, etc. What is more important than the time it takes to complete a home's roof, is the quality of the materials used and the quality of the workmanship. We always warranty both.

WHAT TIME OF YEAR CAN MY HOME'S ROOF BE REPLACED?

The roof on your home, garage, or barn can typically be replaced at any time throughout the year. Or course this varies dependent on the  weather conditions in your area at the time the service is requested. There are other factors that come into play during the wet and cold seasons, e.g., mud, ice, and or deep snow can make normally accessible structures very difficult for trucks and other types of equipment to be used. CAN THE COST CHANGE ONCE INSTALLATION STARTS?

This is a great question and one that most roofing contractors unfortunately like to avoid. The answer is pretty simple, POSSIBLY! At some point during the removal of the old roof, underlying materials may have significant water or mold damage. This can often be avoided with a thorough roof inspection but with multiple layers of roofing materials, these damaged materials can and often do remain hidden until completely uncovered. CAN YOU PUT NEW SHINGLES OVER THE OLD SHINGLES?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! But, this should only be done after a thorough inspection from the inside and outside of the structure. Simply putting new roofing shingles over old can often act as just a band aid and hide issues that will cost you more money and headache that may have been avoided with a full roof replacement. Roof-Over as it is often referred to in the industry should always be considered on a case-by-case bases. If that is an option with just a minor initial roof repair, we can certainly provide that service. The benefits of a complete tear-off and new shingles may be best.
